Job Overview:
Engility is looking for Chief Technologist (CT) to join an exciting program to support solution development for challenging problems.
The successful candidate will be a proactive, forward-leaning self-starter able to work in a fast-paced organization spread across diverse technical areas in the computer networking and telecommunication fields.
The candidate selected will provide expertise for the technology development at the program level, and in the areas of requirements analysis, functional analysis and allocations, systems architecture and design, technical management, and verification and validation at the project level.
The CT is responsible for proactively identifying and evaluating near, mid, and long-term signal transmission technologies and associated technologies consistent with customer strategic roadmap and vision.
This is a leadership role in the program's strategic direction as well as tactical execution.
This position is responsible for continuously evaluating relevant technology, forecasting, and associated maturity levels and risks.
The successful candidate will interact with other Engility technical leadership as well customer leadership to identify, plan and manage R&D initiatives and ensure consistency with the strategic and technology roadmaps, as well as the enterprise technology/capability portfolio.
The CT works with: the program's Chief Architect to identify technology insertion points, the program's Chief Systems Engineer to ensure technology is consistent with unique project (protection, reliability, scalability, etc) needs, and the developers to ensure correct application of technology.
Proactively assessing risks, developing mitigation strategies and communicating issues and solutions are a critical part of this position.
Additional functions of the positions include (but are not limited too): development of multiple end-to-end system architectures, to include networks and facilities; the creation of technical briefings to be presented to a variety of audiences; trade studies and system architectures; expanding or modifying the existing system to serve new purposes or improve workflow; and the application of business process improvement practices to re-engineer methodologies and principles and business process modernization projects.
Someone with a passion for working in a customer support role, has attention to detail, able to multi-task, and can work with multiple project leads to understand and communicate program information will thrive in this environment.
Must have a current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Requires a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a specific focus on communications theory and associated technologies. Must be an expert in associated technologies.
Requires 18 years of experience identifying, evaluating, prototyping, and inserting signal transmission related technologies.
Requires 5 years of experience developing and managing technology roadmaps and R&D (investment) plans in customer environments.
Requires 10 years of experience managing a customer/program-level technology evaluation lab.
Requires 10 years of experience creating acquisition packages for developers and technically overseeing subsequent implementation.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently with a contractor Chief Architect and Chief Systems Engineer, and coincidently with customer leads.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, including presentation in customer decision forums.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
