Director, Business Development/AbilityOne Sales


Responsible for leadership, management and professional development of a team of Business Development Managers.? Accountable for leading business development efforts that increases the pipeline of new opportunities and closing existing business. Provides guidance and direction to individual business development managers as well as assesses performance and progress in building a consistent approach to customer relationship management. Works together with other teams including Key Account Management, Subject Matter Experts and Account Management to mutually reach the company?s goals and mission.


  • Responsible for leadership and management of Air Force/MEDCOM Team Business Development Managers.
  • Manage Business Development Management team members in the development of opportunities and projects at federal government agencies.
  • Provide direct supervision, management and evaluation of direct reports.
  • Serves as a resource regarding high level procurement and contracting issues, regulations, and strategies to the Business Development team.
  • Work with all SourceAmerica departments to coordinate Business Development activities, helping to ensure synergy among applicable business units related to the development of new business opportunities.
  • Provide input and guidance on strategic planning process related to growing business with Air Force, Army Medical Command, and Defense Health Agency.
  • Participate in the development and writing of the SourceAmerica employment growth plan.
  • Develops the Air Force Business Development Engagement Plan.
  • Develops the Army Medical Command and Defense Health Agency Engagement Plans.
  • Participates in team initiatives related to customer input.
  • Perform additional duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


  • Extensive knowledge of the federal acquisition process, research and development, marketing and quality systems is required.
  • Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience working with procurement officials in the federal acquisition environment.
  • Ability to analyze opportunities, markets and business solutions.
  • Ability to recognize, engage and influence key decision makers in the federal acquisition environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, networking and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to handle complex actions and multiple priorities.
  • Self-starter with the confidence to build and maintain successful relationship with key customers and business partners.
  • Ability to deal with uncertainty, risk, diverse points of view and apply good judgment to situations in the absence of clear or complete information.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
