Auditor

Job Description

Basic Function: Perform and Assist with financial and operational audits.

Job Duties (include but not limited to):

  • Understanding, evaluating, and documenting procedures and controls
  • Performing transactions tests and procedural walkthroughs
  • Evaluating and making recommendations for improvement regarding safeguarding of assets, compliance with policies and procedures, reliability of financial statements and underlying records, and efficiency and effectiveness of operations
  • Preparing audit workpaper schedules and file memos and to support audit report conclusions
  • Assisting with audit project planning, determination of audit objectives and procedures, selection of samples, summarizing of findings, discussions with auditee management, and audit report drafting
  • Participating in the Company s Enterprise Risk Management process through documentation of risk survey and interview results
  • Executing ad hoc projects (e. g. forensic audit, special investigations, and management requested projects)
  • Supporting the Company s External Auditor as needed (e. g., preparing audit confirmations)

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • A bachelors or equivalent degree in Accounting or a relevant field; graduate degrees a plus
  • Pursuit of a professional certification, including either Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation
  • Two to Four years of internal or external audit background, preferably Big 4 Public accounting or Global 2000 internal audit department
  • Ability to travel internationally to conduct audits of the Company s foreign subsidiaries (Travel is expected to be between 15 to 25% of work time)
  • Experience with accounting and/or financial control systems and related processes (manual and systems), policies/procedures, documents and reports
  • Experience with GAAP, other accounting and auditing standards, SEC filings and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements a plus
  • Industry experience - software and/or technology industry experience and experience with contracts or contracting procedures a plus
  • Analytical skills and business acumen - analyzing risk, understanding business operations and processes, evaluating procedures, developing recommendations
  • Attention to detail - performing account analysis and tests of transactions
  • Organizational skills and multi-task orientation - performing several ongoing projects or several audit areas within an audit project, ability to work comfortably in new and varied areas of differing complexity
  • Writing skills - documenting procedures, summarizing findings and recommendations

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
