PURCHASING ADMINISTRATOR 3 - TYSONS, VA

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Purchasing Admin III works under the direct supervision of the Purchasing Director to perform purchasing tasks while developing an understanding of purchasing responsibilities within the Procurement Service Center. The Purchasing Admin III may also take direction from Procurement Agents or other members of Management as needed to complete assigned tasks. The Purchasing Admin III must be able to gain competency with procurement policies and procedures, as well as technical product knowledge. The candidate will field requisitions from projects and complete purchase orders in a very fast paced environment that requires a great deal of multi-tasking. The candidate will be required to provide solutions to a wide range of problems. Solutions must be imaginative, thorough, and practical. Errors can cause substantial delays, expense, and disruption, so attention to detail and organization are required for success. Customer service skills are also essential for success.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to collect and analyze large amounts of data, some of which is complex; Organizational and time management skills with a good ability to multi-task; Customer Service experience required; self-motivated with an ability to work independently; must be able to sit in a normal seated position and view computer screens for extended periods of time; excellent typing skills; good ability to communicate verbally and in writing (both in English); Focus on complex tasks for extended periods of time; US citizen to access controlled information; ability to travel to job sites; job sites may also require access to work areas that are accessible only by O. S. H. A approved site construction ladders or stairs that are under construction; 3-4 years of related experience; ability to work overtime as required to complete orders. Past experience/exposure relative to compliance with the Buy America/American Acts, FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations), solicitation and purchasing support incorporating SBE/DBE/MBE/HUBZONE/VETERAN businesses is beneficial.

Excellent knowledge of MSOffice suite, including Excel and Word; excellent ability to learn and use computer applications. Functional experience with and basic understanding of electrical product terminology as well as other construction related material and equipment; ability to quickly learn technical information and products used in the electrical, telecomm, life-safety, security, and construction industries. Experience with SharePoint.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
