: Operations Manager/Installation Manager/General Superintendent

Position Summary

A field supervisor or lead in charge of a group of workers who regularly perform production work or other work unrelated to supervisory duties.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with Supervisor to determine anchorage method for all products using approved submittals/contract details prior to installation start-up.
  • Obtain verified field dimensions if needed with the Project Manager for use in releasing material.
  • Coordinate with onsite trades as required. Attend customer s weekly job meetings.
  • Review Labor Cost to Complete with Supervisor to improve efficiency and cut down time/costs of installation wherever possible.
  • Hiring and terminations of all field personnel, including overseeing and processing paperwork.
  • Train carpenters and laborers in ISEC installation and material handling methods.
  • Make arrangements (manpower and equipment) for unloads.
  • Prepare floor plan showing where each major piece of equipment is stored in the building and keep updated.
  • Notify the customer as required prior to receipt of any major deliveries and arrange for staging onsite.
  • Keep a daily log of project problems noting any special occurrences, material deliveries, problems and directives.
  • Fill out and turn in daily reports to GC, and ISEC Field Reports daily to PM with a copy to Supervisor.
  • Supervise distribution of materials to the proper installation location, unboxed or uncrated and ready to be installed.
  • Check in materials to insure shipment is complete and undamaged and notify PM of any problems.
  • Oversee trash pickup and removal of ISEC materials from building daily.
  • Review each building/floor for installation readiness two weeks prior to installation start date. Information to be provided to PM. Look for:
    • Electrical, mechanical, plumbing, wall locations, rough-ins complete.
    • Walls primed or finish painted, or wall coverings installed.
    • Ceiling grid or hard ceiling installed at correct height.
    • Floor covering in place as required.
    • Rooms/area cleaned up from previous trades and ready for ISEC materials to be distributed and installed.
  • Determine, purchase, sign-out of all power tools, hand tools, specialty tools and expendable materials for each installer. Ensure they are secured/locked up at the end of each workday.
  • Inventory control via manufacture model number and serial number of all power tools purchased new or existing, assigned to the project.
  • Fill out time cards for all field personnel and insure they are signed and faxed to Division office Monday morning. Review timecard coding against Labor Cost to Complete for input errors and omissions.
  • Keep up to date MSDS on products used by the installers.
  • Order installation hardware, tools and expendables for installers as required and follow through until materials are received. Shag materials locally when required. Copies of all Installation Material Requests go to Supervisor.
  • Keep up-to-date shortage list, prepared by PM, of all materials needed to complete the job. Shortages to be turned in to the Project Manager for ordering.
  • Tape Casework elevation drawings to wall at each elevation so installer has proper drawing to work from.
  • Keep installation and contract drawings, specifications and submittals up to date including listing of RFIs and change orders.
  • Walk through all areas where installation is in progress and update completion list for work completed through the end of the day each Friday and into PM s hands by Monday morning.
  • Organize, protect and maintain materials to be installed at the jobsite. All ISEC materials are to be secured/locked up at the end of each workday.
  • Complete each project on time, within Labor Cost Budget (save the labor risk) and satisfy the Customer.
  • Manage/over-see subcontractors.
  • Safety Responsibility

    Manage and implement ISEC safety requirements and recognition; holding installers working for them personally responsible for safety compliance.

    • Promote a positive atmosphere for safety excellence committed to the Safety Promise.
    • Coach employees who need improvement and assign work to only those employees trained and qualified to perform the task.
    • Ensure all recognized safety deficiencies are promptly corrected.
    • Report all injuries and incidents to Managers and Safety Department.
    • Completely and thoroughly plan work tasks.
    • Preparing and lead Safety Meetings.
    • Ensure field employee safety training.

    Preferred Qualifications



    • Ability to install all ISEC products
    • Knowledge of reading blueprints
    • OSHA 10 hr Safety Class Certificate

    Minimum Qualifications


    • High School Education or Equivalent of Education & Experience


    • Forklift, CPR, & First Aid Certifications (Union member where applicable)

    : Workers should be able to: Physically, workers must be able to: Climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolds; Stoop, kneel, and crouch; Use hands and arms to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects; See well (either naturally or with correction); and lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

    The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
